NOTE: Occasionally, a classmate may release their slots to the rest of the class on a first ask, first receive basis. If there’s another day/time you’re interested in (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday afternoons), please let me know by leaving a message at the bottom of this page. I’ll keep you in mind when a spot opens up. If you’d like to get a massage from a classmate, please also leave a message below.
You’ll be receiving your student massage from me at
Kapi’olani Community College
Massage Therapy Program at the Kauila Building
4303 Diamond Head Road
Room 208 (second floor)
Map (opens in new window)
ARRIVAL Your massage time starts at your appointment time, so please try and arrive at least 10 minutes early so that you can park, find the building, use the restroom, and complete the paperwork. If you are late, the length of the massage will consist of the remaining time and will not go over.
PARKING IS FREE If you are traveling by car, you can park in Lot B directly across from Diamond Head Theater, and you will walk up the stairs in the direction of the large sculpture. You will see a Subway Sandwich Shop to your left and vending machines to your right. The next building up ahead and to the slight left is the Kauila building. Room 208 is on the second floor, just past the middle of the building on the left.
If you are approaching from Kilauea, the Kauila building will be the second building near the curb. You’ll see an ambulance parked on the side of the building.
You can park anywhere that isn’t designated for permits or staff/faculty.
IF YOU ARE TRAVELING BY BUS The 2, 3, 9, and 23 all stop at campus. Bus fare is $2.75 one way and $5.50 for an all-day pass.
ABOUT THE MASSAGE You will be receiving a supervised 50-minute massage or 75-minute massage in a student clinic. A supervisor may occassionally observe me and offer suggestions or adjustments. The supervisor is also available should anything arise.
You can undress to your comfort level, including remaining completely dressed (please do leave your underwear on). I may or may not use massage lotion, oil, or cream during our session. Please let me know if you have any preferences, allergies, and/or sensitivities. We practice proper draping techniques to ensure that you feel secure at all times during the massage.
All clients must sign a KCC Liability Waiver when you arrive. You will have to list medical conditions and injuries that might affect the massage.
SPECIAL CONCERNS If you have circulation issues such as clots or diabetes, or other health concerns in which massage may negatively affect your condition, please bring written consent from your doctor that clears you for a full body massage or massage with caution. If you are pregnant, please let me know ASAP so that I can bring pillows. If you’re in your first trimester, massage is contraindicated. If you are postpartum, you’ll need to be at least 6 weeks for vaginal birth and 8 weeks for surgical birth. If you’re in your first trimester or earlier than 6-8 weeks postpartum, please let me know and we’ll reschedule.
IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT Please send someone in your place or try and let me know ASAP as last minute cancellations means I risk not meeting my hourly requirements for completion.
